The Conference aims to bring together early-stage and experienced researchers to share their work affiliated with Ulysseus European University Innovation Hub topics:

1. Sustainable energy, transport, mobility for smart cities
2. Ageing & wellbeing
3. Tourism, arts & heritage
4. Sustainable entrepreneurship and impact
5. Digitalization, robotics and cybersecurity transforming the future
6. Applied AI for business and education
7. Socio-ecological sustainability

The COMPASS Conference offers the participants an international forum that involves peers from all eight partner universities. Participants will have the chance to present their work-in-progress projects or completed research papers, either in person or online. The scope of the research work is not restricted, and includes conceptual, empirical, and position papers. The registration for the conference participation both on-site and online will open in June and go on until September.

In addition to the presentation of papers, workshops, roundtables and interactive sessions aiming to enhance early-stage researcher skills will be organized. We also encourage participants who do not present their paper to take part in these.

The subjects of the interactive sessions are:

• Open science, open data & IPR
• Research ethics & integrity
• How to get your paper published
• Participating in EU projects
• Gender & inclusiveness
• Conference presentation skills, self-management & self-leadership in research
• How to develop researchers’ careers

In addition, a Business Forum with companies will be organised.

Call for abstracts: We invite you all to submit your abstract for consideration in one of our 7 Ulysseus European University Innovation Hub topics:

1. Browse the conference topics above and choose the topic that your extended abstract corresponds best
2. Download and read the writing guidelines and use the following template for abstracts
3. Name your extended abstract following these indications: lastname_firstname_topickname_COMPASS
4. Submit your extended abstract by 5.6.2023. When submitting your abstract please carefully fill in the form in the submission page. Should you have any problems during the submission process, please do not hesitate to contact compassconference@haaga-helia.fi
5. All extended abstracts will be evaluated by the scientific committee of COMPASS in their corresponding field. You will receive a notification of acceptance and feedback by 15.6.2023
