Hochschulsport Münster participates in an EU health improvement project

In lectures, at the library or the office - Students and staffmembers at universities spend much of their time sitting. The new European project "Active Campus Europe" (ACE) was founded to counteract. 16 universities from seven european countries will develop offerings for health promotion.
The partners of the project aim to develop a "Best Practice Model" handbook for university sports in Europe with feasible ways activiities to make the student's and staff member's lifestyle more active and healthier. Futhermore, the project partners want to establish a European network to foster healthy sports at universities.
For the Münster university it was important to establish options for their staff members and students to improve their health. Therefore, the new center for health and competitive sports by the University's Sports was opened. Now, they want to achieve their goals on the European scale.
The project is co-funded with 400.000 Euros from the "ERASMUS+" programme of the EU comission. The project partners' work is coordinated by the RWTH Aachen. Project partners are the universities from Bochum, Bonn and Wuppertal and University of Applied Science Turku and Tampere (Finland), the Middlesex University and the Imperial College London (United Kingdom), Eindhoven and Maastricht University (Netherlands), the University College Dublin and the Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), the universities in Vigo and Barcelona (Spain) and die Minho University (Portugal).
