Since 9th July 2023, New Zealand is associated partner in Horizon Europe pillar II. This means, New Zealand participates on an equal basis with EU member states, and New Zealand institutions can participate as coordinators or partners in projects under the same conditions. Projects under Pillar II focus on joint global challenges in areas such as climate, energy, mobility, digitalization, industry, space, health, and other topics.

The application deadline, together with New Zealand institutions, is December 31, 2027.
