WWU's law students visit European Court of Justice

28 law students with a focus on tax law visit a court case about state aid law

28 students of Münster University follow the invitation by Advocate General Prof. Dr. Juliane Kokott to visit the European Court of Justice in Luxemburg. The students with a focus on tax law were accompanied by Prof. Dr. Joachim Englisch. The students visited a case of European state aid law after the preparation of the case by Prof. Dr. Englisch with a special seminar.

The case was about the acceptance of tax privileges for the catholic church in Spain under consideration of European state aid law. Prof. Kokott introduced the students into the case process and the preparational actions so that they were ready to follow the oral proceedings. After the process, Prof. Kokott also talked to the group of law students to clarify the role of an Advocate General at the European Court of Justice and to have discussion with them.
