EU project YOUNG ADULLLT hosts European Roundtable

The YOUNG_ADULLLT project, which is coordinated at the Institute of Education of the University of Muenster by Professor Marcelo Parreira do Amaral, has hosted a European Policy Roundtable in Brussels.
The European Policy Roundtable aimed at disseminating first findings from the YOUNG_ADULLLT and ENLIVEN projects as well as discussing key emerging topics of life long learning policies with stakeholders and decision-makers at European level.
YOUNG_ADULLLT aims at analysing the interaction and complementarity of LLL policies and policy-making with other sectorial policies as well as understanding the different ways in which LLL policies are socially embedded in specific regional and local contexts across Europe. In addition, the The ENLIVEN research project models how policy interventions in adult education markets can become more effective.
The roundtable addressed two main questions:
- What kind of LLL/adult education policies are available to young adults across Europe, especially to those in vulnerable positions?
- What can be said about the participation of young adults in those policies?
In terms of the first question, the participants did discuss the main findings from YOUNG_ADULLLT regarding the mapping, review and analysis of LLL policies and, from ENLIVEN, regarding overviews of available education and training provisions for young vulnerable adults.
In terms of the second question, the research-based insights on the participation of young adults in the LLL policies was presented. The European Policy Roundtable was aimed at stakeholders and decision-makers at European level in the fields of youth policy, LLL and adult education.
