EU funding: New Zealand potential partner in EU projects

Since 9th July 2023, New Zealand is associated partner in Horizon Europe pillar II. This means, New Zealand participates on an equal basis with EU member states, and New Zealand institutions can participate as coordinators or partners in projects under the same conditions. Projects under Pillar II focus on joint global challenges in areas such as climate, energy, mobility, digitalization, industry, space, health, and other topics.

The application deadline, together with New Zealand institutions, is December 31, 2027.

Graduate School of Natural Products (GS-NP)

The University of Münster, Germany, offers excellent research opportunities within a strong interdisciplinary environment. The Graduate School of Natural Products GS-NP (www.uni-muenster.de/GS-NP) represents a highly interdisciplinary program among the faculties of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Biology and Medicine to strengthen cutting-edge research on NP and combines more than 20 individual research groups. EU guide for complementary funding mechanisms in third countries

The European Commission has published a guide on the co-funding mechanisms of third countries which are not eligible for funding in Horizon Europe

As a general rule, entities from all over the world can participate in the EU Horizon Europe Framework Programme. However, many industrialised countries which are neither EU-members nor associated to Horizon Europe do not usually receive EU funding and must bring their own funds in order to participate in Horizon Europe projects. Several third countries provide their own research and innovation funds to finance the participation of their research institutions and companies in Horizon Europe.

EU supports Münster's aspirations of climate neutrality

City of Münster selected as one of the "100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030“
EU Missions

Earlier this year, the EU launched a competition with the aim of selecting 100 cities that will lead the way in implementing the Green Deal and achieving climate neutrality by 2030. The city of Münster took part in this competition and was selected. Münster is now one of the EU's "100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030".
