On 15 October 2019, UnILiON organised a political debate followed by a panel discussion on embedding universities into the fabric of society to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Jörg Becker was again invited to Brussels as expert on European Public Procurement. On September 25th 2019, he gave a talk about the future potential of public procurement, including topics like digital end-to-end processes, interoperability or the "one-stop shop" idea for procurement.
The European Commission has published the updated work programmes for the last year of the EU's Horizon 2020 framework programme. Eleven billion euros are available in 2020. The European Research Council (ERC) is offering its largest annual funding to date with 2.2 billion euros.
