On 22 February 2021, the ERC published the Work Programme 2021 stating that in this year the ERC plans to publish calls for the funding lines Starting, Consolidator and Advanced Grants.

In 2018, the Rectorates of the University of Twente and WWU have decided to support joint research projects by scientists* from both universities by setting up Collaboration Grants.
